چکیده

Exploring the laws of the nature and the rules of human society is the grand challenge of sciences. The Internet, Web, various communication networks and digital devices are connecting each other to form an enormous cyber space. The cyber space gradually connects the natural physical space via various cyberphysical interfaces to form Cyber Physical Systems. Interacting with humans, Cyber Physical Systems will connect human society to form a new world—Cyber Physical Society. Humans’ daily life and work will become increasingly relying on the new world. Billions of years’ evolution creates the most elegant and efficient natural ecosystem. It will be ideal if the Cyber Physical Society can be an ecosystem that harmoniously evolves with society, economy, culture, sciences and technologies. The natural ecosystem gives us inspiration to ensure the harmony of the Cyber Physical Society. From ecosystem point of view, this paper proposes the notion, method, scientific issues, general architecture and resource management of Cyber Physical Society. The study of the Cyber Physical Socio Ecology (CPSE) could lead to a new branch of sciences. Copyright 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Required Changes in Requirements Engineering Approaches for Socio-Cyber-Physical Systems

Requirements engineering has been mainly focused on software development, which represents relatively homogenous, stable and predictable cyber space. But even there, problems in requirements (e.g., changing, missing or irrelevant requirements) are considered as main reasons for project failure. Entering a new era of socio-cyber-physical systems, which are complex, heterogeneous systems of syste...

Semantic linking through spaces for cyber-physical-socio intelligence: A methodology

Humans consciously and subconsciously establish various links, emerge semantic images and reason in mind, learn linking effect and rules, select linked individuals to interact, and form closed loops through links while co-experiencing in multiple spaces in lifetime. Machines are limited in these abilities although various graph-based models have been used to link resources in the cyber space. T...

Process Socio Space Discovery Based on Semantic Logs

While the cyber physical society (CPS) describes the future environment of collaboration and coordination between the cyber space and the socio space, nowadays, business process management systems (BPMS) are coined to specify how the computational resources can coordinate and collaborate by aligning all aspects of an organization through a set of activities, performed by their relevant collabor...

Thoughts on Application of Evolutionary Software Development for Complex, Large-scale, Integrated, Open Systems

This paper presents two thought experiments that consider the potential benefits, concerns, and questions of evolvable software developed using Normalized Systems Theory when applied to the emerging complex, interactive project types known as cyber-physical systems (CPS), socio-technical systems (STS), ultra-large scale systems (ULS), and Complex, Large-scale, Integrated, Open Systems (CLIOS).

Towards the development of a Cyber-Intelligent Enterprise System Architecture

Although the concept of Cyber Intelligent Enteprise is largely based on Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), research in adjacent fields, like Internet of Things (IoT), is also important as it provides a valuable set of system architectures and integration techniques. The current socio-economic context provides the perfect opportunity for the development of a new breed of enterprise system architectur...
